Tax Credit Extended

Good news!

Below is the part of the release from HPBA announcing the extension of the Sec. 25C allowing $300 tax credit for qualifying wood stoves and pellet stoves. Use this now to sell more units!

Want to be a real hero to your customers? Contact customers who purchased from you in 2015 and let them know they can claim this $300 credit. It shows you care about their best interests and creates raving fans! Just think how much you would appreciate a card or a call from someone informing you how to save $300 on a unit you already purchased!

It is with great excitement that we announce the wood and pellet stove tax credit was officially extended last week when President Obama signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016 (H.R. 2029) on Friday, December 18, 2015. As previously reported, the bill reauthorizes, among other credits, the Sec. 25C tax credit for non-business energy property. Included in this section is the $300 tax credit for residential biomass stoves that are at least 75 percent efficient. The bill did not change any aspects of the tax credit, only moving the expiration date of the credit from December 31, 2014 to December 31, 2016. This means that all qualifying purchases made in 2015 and 2016 are eligible for the tax credit.

More information about the biomass stove tax credit can be found on our website and any questions about the credit may be directed to Rachel Feinstein (feinstein@hpba.org).
